Apple users can now pay by SMS! Find out how in our dedicated article.

Paying by SMS is now possible with Apple

Apple has launched SMS payment. Apple users can now send money directly via SMS, email, phone call, or through Apple Pay. (For more information on Apple Pay). The SMS payment option displays an Apple Pay button within the message once it is opened. This allows the person making the payment to select multiple recipients and choose the amount they wish to send. It is also possible, within a conversation, to request money or send a specific amount.

Until now, it has always been difficult for companies to be profitable with services of this type due to low margins. However, this is of little concern to the California-based company. A report by Javelin Strategy & Research published in September 2015 found that peer-to-peer payments are particularly popular among the two main age groups in the United States: 18-24 year-olds and 25-34 year-olds. Making a payment / money transfer with a simple SMS

The possibilities are endless! We can imagine numerous use cases, not only for individuals but also for businesses. For instance, a company could send a promotional message giving the recipient the option to pay for the offered service with a simple SMS.

Many other companies, such as Facebook, have already developed a similar or closely related service through their messaging platforms. However, none of them have yet taken the leap of making this feature available to users. Initially, this payment system is integrated directly into the iPhone rather than being implemented through a separate application.

The ability to pay directly by SMS has significantly revolutionized the industry, as it greatly simplifies payments and orders. You can now leave home while ordering and paying for your lunch on the go!
